My name is Lila Chavez i am a juior here at El Paso high. I’ve been in the softball program for the last two years. So far this class has taught me that newspaper is all about finding a lead and drawing the reader in with the first sentence in a story. Being able to go out, interview and really get invloved with our cumminity are the reasons I decided to join newspaper.

I plan to build my writing skills while being a journalist here. I want people to go out of their way and read what I write. I also can’t wait to go out and take pictures for the stories I write. Photography is something im looking forward to furthering my knowledge on. Ive dealt with cameras before, but never with action shots, so that’s what I want to do more while I’m in newspaper.
