El Paso High School awarded campus patrol, Tony “the tiger” Fierro, as employee of the year, a tribute to all his dedication and commitment to serving the school community.
With seven years of facility service, Tony has become beloved figure among students and staff.
“I am very honored and pleased. I work hard for it, and I believe that I do good work and Im happy that they voted me in, and overall, just happy and appreciative for those who voted for me,” said Tony.
Tony’s favorite part of working at El Paso High is the students, something that hasn’t gone unnoticed.

“Since being in this school for about four years now I can say that Tony is very respectful and he cares about the safety of everyone and he keeps us safe everyday by being the crossing guard,” Felicity Jones, senior, said.
Tony’s role not only shows his commitment to safety but also shows his dedication to keeping a safe school for everyone. His friendly behavior and interest in each student creates a happy environment throughout the school.
“My favorite thing about Tony is how when you see him in the hallways everyday, he always has time to say hi to you,” said Emma Fierro, junior.
Tony’s journey to being nominated as employee of the year was a surprise to him, as he consistently focuses on keeping the safety and health of the students rather than looking for recognition. His dedication does not go unnoticed, as shown by the votes from those around him. As Tony’s achievement is celebrates, his contributions to this school go beyond his role.
“Throughout all my years here, I’m always doing the same things: making sure the kids are safe and [that] they have safety and [good] health, and that will always be the highlight of my job,” Tony said.
