Changes to leadership were made across EPISD, and El Paso High was no exception as they welcomed a new guidance and instructional assistant principal.
However, some students and staff were already familiar with their new assistant principal, Monica Ortega.
“She was an amazing assistant principal and was great about enforcing the rules and always made sure we were doing the right things” freshman, Emily Varela said.
She has been working in education for 13 years at CCTA and Andress. Her previous role as an assistant principal at Don Haskins Elementary.
“They should know I’m a servant leader and will do whatever it takes to help the students and staff” Ms. Ortega said.
Mrs. Ortega added that she wants to continue to prioritize the students’ education and build that foundation that will prepare them for college.
“I’m just excited to be here and learn about this amazing campus and watch these students grow.”
