His passion for education is clear, and he hopes to enhance the school’s advanced academic programs.
“I want to increase dual credit offerings and advanced classes for our students. They work hard for their GPAs, and we want to provide every opportunity for them to succeed,” Mr. Ismail said.
As he’ settled into his role, Mr. Ismail is eager to build relationships within the community.
“I want to get to know the students and staff better, understand the processes in place, and support the amazing programs already here,” he said.
Claudia Simpson: Assistant Principal
Formerly the school’s college readiness advisor, Mrs. Simpson now steps into the role of Assistant Principal. With a master’s degree in administration, she saw this as a natural progression in her career.
“I love El Paso High School, and it felt like the right time to make a move. I want to continue building good rapport with students and parents,” Mrs. Simpson said.
She believes that being approachable is essential in her position.
“My goal is to bring a smile to a student’s face. You never know what someone might be going through, and I want to make a positive impact,” Mrs. Simpson said.
As she navigates her new responsibilities, Mrs. Simpson remains committed to learning the ins and outs of her role and meeting everyone’s needs.

Her primary goal this year is to build strong relationships with both staff and students.

“I have heard nothing but great things about this school, and it truly lives up to its reputation. The community here is amazing,” Ms. Hernandez said.
Her goals include getting to know her students on a personal level, as she believes in being a supportive figure, like a school mom.
“I believe that being visible in the school and establishing personal connections will help students feel comfortable approaching me,” she said.
By creating a welcoming environment, Ms. Hernandez hopes to ensure that every student knows they have someone in their corner.

She is also keen on building a strong connection with students to provide the best support possible throughout the college application process.
“I aim to be a reliable resource for our students. It’s all about creating an environment where they feel comfortable asking for help,” Ms. Zuniga said.
