As the volleyball team starts their season again, they look to further their success from last year’s area championship run. The Tigers fell short in the quarter regionals round against Abilene High School in three sets.
Returning players are looking to build on that success this season. The Tigers are currently 15-7 as they approach district play.
One player to keep an eye on is sophomore Angelina Castro, a returning varsity member.

“Since fifth grade.”
Q: What are some of your personal goals for this upcoming season?
“Probably do better on my stats than I did last year and go higher or go farther into the playoffs.”
Q: What are some things that you think you can contribute to your team?
“Well, since we had a lot of seniors graduate last year, I think taking a role and being one of the main right sides.”
Q: What are some things you’re working on to improve this season?
“My defense is kind of bad, so improve on that.
Q:What are some ways your team and coaches can help you improve your game?
“I think a lot of encouragement because I get down on myself a lot and like rough games, so encouragement, and helpful things.”
Q:Since a few of the varsity players graduated this year, what are some changes you’ve noticed about the team dynamic?
“We have a lot of JV girls coming out, so it’s been kind of difficult coming together as a team, but we’ve been doing better.”
